Things with Wings Completion
"After five months of work, Things with Wings is officially finished and available for everyone to read!! At 78 pages, it’s my longest comic yet! I hope you all like it!
You can read it here!"
- 2018 Brennan
And this was the most recent comic I've made! I'd like to make more, someday, but things are busy.

"Malnourished Lizard Boy"
"Have a little malnourished lizard boy! Also known as Terrak: the star of my next in-progress comic. Normally he wears a mask and a breathing apparatus, since strelks are used to breathing air with high concentrations of sulfuric fumes (the normal environment of the Strelk Pit), but the Platform’s atmosphere is a little short on that. However, since the comic takes place before he leaves the Strelk Pit, I thought it appropriate to do a nicer sketch of him without has mask so I can get the hang of drawing his cute little face, and so I could be sure to add more obvious signs of starvation. Strelks aren’t kind to people who are different – albinos (even those with partial albinism, like Terrak) aren’t looked kindly upon.
Curious what he’s doing with that paper on his arm? In just a few months, you can find out."

Some Updated Character References
"It’s Skylette! A giant warrior bird queen, for those who aren’t familiar with her. She’s the same species as Cider: a pennie, from Rett. I thought her bio picture could use a redo, so I made a new one! I’ve got a lot better at drawing muscles since then – not perfect by any means, but better than before."
"From left to right: Terrak, Janus, and Nobles.
I had some time, so I revamped a few character portraits that were either super old or just didn’t look quite right. They all look much better now! More… Them-ish.
(It’s strange to draw Terrak in color, now, after drawing him in black-and-white for so long while working on Things with Wings.)"

Originally two separate posts, but I merged them together! I also made the pictures super small, so just click on 'em if you wanna appreciate their beauty.

"Snack Time"
"You know, it's a good thing that all of the Tepalagos like pomegranates -- if they didn't this adorable picture wouldn't exist. Even Terrak likes them, despite the fact that strelks are strictly carnivorous and they make him vomit if he eats too many.
I'm very happy with this drawing, but something about it bugs me... It feels unfinished. Mainly the siding on the house. I still have a large amount of trouble drawing any sort of architecture, especially at an angle like that. As such, I might edit this later on. It's been sitting on my Photoshop window for quite a while, though, and I was eager to get it done, so I called it good for now."

Some say she's still not happy with it to this day...

"Beloved Queen"
"Strelkish society is interesting. Where Terrak (the one on the left that is totally mesmerized) is from, all strelks are ruled by a single leader. These leaders have exceptionally strong projection abilities. Projection abilities are split into three categories, from the most basic to the most difficult to master: communication (simply being able to send and receive mental images), empathy (being able to send and receive feelings), and suggestion (being able to alter someone else's opinion however you like, as well as go through their thoughts and memories). Every leader's skills expand into category three, as this is how they keep the society passive and pleased with their leadership, regardless of how barbaric they actually are. When the occasional dispute does arise, they shift the blame from themselves to an easy target, often someone who is visibly different from the group. As Terrak is albinistic, he is one such easy target."
- 2015 Brennan
The whole mind-control aspect of strelkish leaders was never really explored in Things with Wings. It just didn't fit into the short story very well, and would be tough to describe with words. Most of this information is still accurate, though! Strelkish monarchs are cruel.

"Though the Eyes of the Mechanic"
"This is Terrak. I was aiming to do a sort of cut-away thing, as I wanted to showcase him with and without his mask. The feather up there (which isn't a boat, by the way) is symbolism, as he's always wanted to fly. (He looks a little scary without the mask, but his eyes are full of child-like wonder.)"

This time period is the Terrak era. The T-era-k, if you will.

"Death Sentence"
"Poor little Terrak (without his mask) has just been sentenced to death. He's an albino, which the rest of the strelks weren't too happy about in the first place, and then they went and locked him up for something else. Don't worry, he gets away. Otherwise his book would end very abruptly after only a few chapters."
- 2014 Brennan
Back when Things with Wings was going to be a book! And when Terrak had more problems in the caldera aside from just finding a dead bird and watching a child get murdered.
