Ahh. I love drawing Vera.
I'm not entirely sure why, honestly -- she's just very cathartic to draw (even if her clothes do give me lot of trouble, since I've never been the best at drawing dresses). She's one of the few humanoid characters I have that has a very clear face in my head, and I've been working with her a long time, so she's very near and dear to me. And also I like her hair.
Anyway, the drawing's fairly simple (as you can tell by the background, which I made using my personal philosophy of "Ehh, just shove some clouds and some overlay gradients on there, I'm sure it'll look fine"), but I enjoyed it anyway. It was fun to get to flesh out the embroidery on her clothing, which I've never really drawn before now. And I gave her lipstick! Which I really like. Things have been tough in the world recently, so it's nice to draw something gentle to mellow myself out.
